The longest range private jets fly 6,500 nautical miles nonstop, enough for New York to Tokyo. Range drops with a full cabin, strong headwinds and short runways.
Fastest, biggest and longest range private jets
People often ask which private jet is the fastest, the biggest or the one that flies furthest. Here are the answers from the jets we charter, and the record holders beyond them.
Figures are typical for each model: cruise speed in knots, range with a light load and cabin length from cockpit door to the rear wall. Real numbers shift with weight, weather and the age of the aircraft.

How to choose between private jet types
Three questions narrow seven private jet sizes down to one or two. How many people fly, how far you go and how much you carry.
Private jet size by group
Up to 7 people fit a light jet and 9 a midsize. A super midsize takes 10. Larger groups, up to 16, need a heavy or ultra long range jet.
Private jet range by trip
A light jet covers about 1,800 nautical miles. That is enough for London to Ibiza or New York to Miami without a stop. The largest private planes cross oceans nonstop, from London to Los Angeles or New York to Tokyo.
Luggage and cabin height
Skis, golf bags and large suitcases need a midsize jet or bigger, because small jets have little hold space. On longer flights, cabin height starts to matter. From a super midsize upwards, most adults can stand inside.
Brand or size first?
Size first, every time. A Cessna, an Embraer and a Bombardier in the same class cost about the same per hour and fly similar distances. The age and condition of the aircraft matter more than the badge.
