Common private jet questions
Everything people ask before booking a private jet charter, from price and timing to luggage, pets and cancellation. Each answer is short, and an advisor can go into detail on the phone.
How much does it cost to fly on a private jet?
Charter prices start around $2,600 per hour for a turboprop and $4,200 for a light jet. Large cabin jets cost $9,500 or more per hour. A one hour trip like London to Paris starts near $3,000 one way. Use the calculator for your own route.
How far in advance should I book?
A few days is enough for most trips. For holidays, major events and peak ski weekends, book two to three weeks ahead. If an aircraft is nearby, we can arrange a flight in three to four hours.
Is a private jet worth it compared with first class?
For one person, rarely on price alone. For four to eight people, a light or midsize jet often costs about the same as last minute business class, and you save two to three hours of airport time on every trip.
Do you own the aircraft?
No. We are an independent charter agent. We book flights with licensed operators that pass our safety checks, which lets us pick the best aircraft for each trip rather than the one we need to fill.
What is included in the price?
Aircraft, crew, fuel, airport and handling fees, standard catering and taxes are included in the final quote. Deicing, special catering, ground transport and internet data on board can be extra, and we list them before you pay.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes. Pets travel in the cabin with you on most aircraft. Tell us when you book so we choose an operator that welcomes pets and prepare the right documents for your destination.
What is a charter flight?
A charter flight is a flight you book for your own group, on your own schedule, rather than buying seats on an airline. You hire the whole aircraft with its crew. A private jet charter is the same idea in a business jet, flying from private terminals.
What documents do I need?
A valid passport for international flights, and any visas your destination requires. For domestic flights in the US, a government photo ID is enough.
How much luggage can I bring?
It depends on the aircraft. A light jet takes about six medium bags, a heavy jet fourteen or more. Tell us about skis, golf clubs or large cases and we will pick the right aircraft.
Can I smoke on board?
Almost all operators forbid smoking. A few allow it on request, and we can check.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The captain decides if a flight is safe. If your destination closes, we land at the nearest suitable airport and arrange ground transport.
Can I change my flight after booking?
Yes. Time changes are often free if the aircraft is still available. Route changes are repriced, and we confirm the new cost before anything changes.
What is your cancellation policy?
It follows the operator terms, which we show in every quote. As a rule, cancellation is often free more than 7 days before departure and charged in full within 24 hours.
